What is an Alpha Course?

• Christianity: boring, untrue and irrelevant?
• Who is Jesus?
• Why did Jesus die?
• Why and how should I read the Bible?
• How does God guide us?

The evening starts at 5:00 with a home cooked meal, and then we watch a video on that night's topic by Alpha founder, Nicky Gumbel.  After the video we have dessert and coffee.  Then we break into small groups for discussion.  We talk about that night's topic, or any other topic that the group wants.  Almost anything is on the table. 

We offer this course to inform people who might have questions about Christianity but are uncomfortable in an evangelistic or "preachy" situation.  We feel that you cannot make an important decision about your life without having the information you need to make that decision.  We do not try to "convert" you.  At the end of the course we do tell you about the other courses we offer. 

This is a pleasant way to spend an evening and to meet new friends. My wife and I attended the first Alpha course that this Church put on in the fall of 2001.  We had never attended this Church or any other.  What I remember the most is the friends we made.  We enjoyed it so much that we volunteered to help at the next course.  Now I am the coordinator of the course.

Another course will be starting on Sunday,  September 27th at 5:00 pm.  Each session meets every Sunday for twelve weeks.  Come as you are!  Child care with craft activities is provided!  All this is provided at no cost to you including course materials. Each session ends promptly at 7:00 p.m.
